Town of Timnath To Celebrate Opening of New Wildwind Community Park

Saturday, April 12, Timnath and surrounding residents will have a new place to enjoy the outdoors! 

The WildWing Community Park spans over 22.1 acres and brings new recreational opportunities and green space to the area. Located at 2221 County Road 1 in Timnath, the public is invited to share in the excitement of this new destination with a special celebration on Saturday, April 12 from Noon – 2:00 pm. This is an ideal opportunity for residents to be among the first to experience everything the park has to offer and come together as a community to mark this special occasion.

“We are excited to provide a space that encourages outdoor activity, fosters community engagement and offers something for everyone,” said Mayor of Timnath, Robert Axmacher. “From pickleball players to pet owners, this park is designed to be an inclusive and welcoming space for Timnath residents and for all our neighbors in surrounding communities.”

The Town of Timnath invested $6,175,000 to provide a wide range of amenities designed to enhance the quality of life for community members of all ages and abilities. The new park includes:

  • Four pickleball courts
  • Three soccer fields
  • Basketball court
  • Grass volleyball court
  • Destination ADA playground
  •  Community garden with 12 plots
  • Event space with food truck access
  • Large and small dog parks
  • Restroom building
  • Ample parking



A festive afternoon is planned to celebrate the grand opening. The commemoration will include a ribbon-cutting, remarks from city officials, including Mayor Axmacher, pickleball round robin, basketball shooting, live DJ, and a number of kid-friendly activities including face painting, inflatables, kite flying and more!

The project is made possible through partnerships with ECI Site Construction Management, Inc. as the general contractor, TST Engineering for design and construction management, and Collab Architecture, who designed the restroom building.
